Invitation for the opening of the Exhibition -
One Hundred 17th Century Italian Drawings Collection of A. Martin Lublinský The Scientific Library of Olomouc

In view of subject matter, the core of the collection on display lies in the studies of figural compositions, popular copies of ancient sculptures – the ‘ricordi’ of the Renaissance artworks by Michelangelo or Raphael. The painters Agostino Ciampelli, Jacopo Confortini, Paolo Pagani and many other protagonists represent several Italian regions, though the major art centres of Rome, Florence and Venice prevail.
The collection shows the prevalence of studies which enable contemporary audiences a real insight into the spontaneous creative processes of Italian 17th century artists. The collection also demonstrates the specific cultural phenomenon of religious art collecting whose significance reached beyond regions. The exhibition will show ninety-seven drawings and three albums in the original Baroque arrangement.
