Invitation for the opening of the Exhibition - Flying Dutchmen | Photoreport from the Animation with the House of social services PRIMA

The quality, number and integrity of the collection of Netherlandish, Dutch and Flemish art at the Slovak National Gallery represents the most important body of this style of painting in Slovakia. Almost 200 exhibits from the 15th to the 19th centuries, many of them created by famous artists, exemplify some of the finest painting from the provinces of the Netherlands and the art of its great masters.
The exhibition will show well-known as well as less well-known paintings reflecting different styles and contexts, and family relationships often documented thanks to the loans from domestic and foreign public and private collections.
16th to 18th century painting from the northern provinces of the Netherlands displays a variety of styles and themes. It is unquestionable that the work of Rembrandt and his circle (G. de Wet) represents the greatest artists of the Golden Age of the 17th century. A numerous collection of works on view will show the flourishing period of Flemish painting drawing on the subjects of landscape, history, portrait, genre painting and still life (Jan Brueghel, Anthony Van Dyck, David Teniers, Jacob Jordaens).
