Carte Futuriste / Futuristic Drawings
100 Years of Futurism

SNG, Esterházy Palace, 3rd floor
17. June 2009 - 26. July 2009

Exhibition Concept: Davide Sandrini and Maurizio Scudiero
Organizers: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy, Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava

The SNG, in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava, offers an original presentation on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of Futurism (1909 – 2009) the avant-garde movement from the beginning of the 20th century, which adumbrated the dynamic and stormy fate of the new era in culture and fine arts. It introduces to the Slovak general public the works – on paper, aquarelles and drawings – of the most significant representatives of Italian Futurism, such as Umberto Boccioni, Giacomo Balla, Carlo Dalmazzo Carrà, Luigi Russolo, Gino Severini, Mario Sironi, Enrico Prampolini, Fortunato Depero, Achille Funi and Roberto Marcello Baldessari. The exhibition takes place on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava and within the framework of the 2nd year of the Dolce vitaj Festival.
