In this retrospective exhibition of the Czech plastic artist/sculptor, Eva Kmentová, are works from second half of the 1950s up to her premature death in 1980. This project shall follow Kmentová’s early figural plastic art pieces and her later grasp of informal style or pop art motifs, either via her work with prints, casts of her own body, or the combination of sculpting with two dimensional painting. Prints of a body, fingers, lips, or palms were the most used artistic means for Eva Kmentová. Through these, she, as a sculptor, explored the volatile world of evanescence. This exhibition offers this very aspect of her production in art pieces made from fragile cement, plaster, or paper. Besides her sculpting work and objects, special attention is paid to her drawing. Works from her estate and from both private and public collections are to be presented.
