PRESS RELEASE - MUDROCH & MUDROCH
The Dialogue That Never Took Place

The exhibition project introduces the work of Ján Mudroch (1909 – 1968) and his son, Marian Mudroch (1945) in a new and unfamiliar way. Each of them – in his time – was (is) one of the most significant representatives of Slovak modern (contemporary) art. The exhibition organized on the occasion of the hundredth birthday of one of the masters of Slovak modern painting will present approximately 150 heretofore un-exhibited drawings of the artist (from private estates) with the goal of emphasizing the specifics of his creative thinking and talent. It will also pose common, although distant in time, questions on the sense of work, and present mutual links and convictions and a self-reflexive interview on the theme of art. The exhibition is complemented by examples of the most representative paintings of Ján Mudroch from the collections of the SNG and regional galleries.
