The most significant acquisitions of the Collection of Photomedia (selection)
1968 – Donation of a set of photographs from the interwar period by François Kollar, a French photographer of Slovak origin.
1985 – Purchase of a set of photographs from the interwar period by Irena Blühová, the first Slovak social photographer.
1994 – Purchase of a set of photographs by various authors (483 photographs by 82 authors active from 1850 – 1985) from Ľudovít Hlaváč, a historian and collector of Slovak photography for a nominal price.
1999 – Purchase of a large set of phototype postcards of Pavol Socháň, a Slovak photographer from the turn of the 20th century.
2002 – Donation of a great part of the work of Martin Martinček from the 1960s and 1970s.
2004, 2009 – Purchases of the works of Tibor Honty, a Slovak photographer from the 1950s and 1960s.
2004 – Donation of a set of documentary photographs of Slovakia by Jindřich Štreit, a Czech documentary photographer from the beginning of the 1990s.
